Sumanas Jordan, MD
Dr. Jordan combines excellent training with a warm and affirming bedside manner. She performs a variety of reconstructive and aesthetic surgeries, including breast, lymphedema, and gender affirming surgery. Dr. Jordan specializes in DIEP breast reconstruction, immediate lymphatic reconstruction, and lymphovenous bypass for cancer patients. She welcomes all gender identities and offers top surgery, vaginoplasty, and phalloplasty for transgender and non-binary individuals.
Dr. Jordan is board certified in plastic surgery and is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Plastic Surgery at Northwestern University. She is the Director of the Gender Pathways Program at Northwestern Medicine, which aims to provide comprehensive, affirming care across the lifespan. She runs an active research program to improve the quality of care for her patients.
Dr. Sumanas Jordan graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh on full scholarship. She attended medical school at Emory University School of Medicine. During her time in Atlanta, she also completed a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. She moved to Chicago to complete a seven-year residency in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Northwestern University, one of the premier plastic surgery programs in the country. She completed a one-year fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Jordan obtained additional skills in gender affirming vaginoplasty in Thailand.
