Teaching Clinic

Welcome to the Plastic Surgery Teaching Clinic of the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. We are committed to providing our patients with excellent care and satisfaction. The Clinic was established to give patients the opportunity to obtain cosmetic surgery at a discounted price under the direct care of a supervised chief resident physician. Over the years, it has built an excellent reputation in the city of Chicago.

All procedures are performed by one of the two chief residents in plastic surgery. These are well-trained plastic surgery residents in their seventh and final year of training who operate under the supervision of one of the highly skilled plastic surgery attending physicians.

The full-range of cosmetic surgical procedures are offered, including cosmetic face and neck, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, Botox, Restylane, liposuction, breast augmentation, breast lift, tummy tuck and post-bariatric plastic surgery. Several important considerations for prospective patients are outlined below.

Please contact us to schedule an appointment.

Important Considerations

We will only perform procedures deemed safe, appropriate and beneficial for the patient. There may be times when we are unable to provide the service requested.

Two plastic surgical consultations will be required in most cases before surgery is scheduled. The first visit will involve consultation and examination by the resident under the supervision of a plastic surgery attending physician. The purpose of the second visit is to provide patients with the opportunity to ask questions and clarify expectations. The second visit is included in the initial consultation fee, as long as it is for the same procedure.

All the risks and benefits of surgery will be explained to you before surgery. If you have any questions or do not understand the policies of the program, we are here to make every effort to answer your questions.

The clinic maintains a strict no smoking policy for the benefit of the patient. All cosmetic patients must stop smoking six weeks prior to their scheduled surgeries.

Confidential preoperative and postoperative photographs will be required of all patients and will be used to assist in care and as a learning tool for residents.

Surgical quotes are estimates only and may be subject to change. Some fees may be incurred beyond those included in the surgical price quote.

Payment for all surgical procedures is required in advance. Services rendered for complications or revisions are not included in the original payment. The attending physician has approved the surgical plan and all fees must be fully collected before surgery can be scheduled.

Surgical dates cannot be guaranteed. There are rare situations when a surgery may be cancelled due to a hospital emergency or other unforeseen delays in the operating room schedule.

Pre-surgical evaluation by a medical consultant – including blood work, EKG or chest x-ray – may be required, at the patients' expense.

The plastic surgery resident is your physician. The resident will perform your surgery (under the attending physician’s supervision) and provide your postoperative care. A plastic surgery attending physician will supervise the procedure and will be available if a problem or complication should arise.

If you fail to cancel a preoperative consultation 24 hours in advance, half the fee will be added to the next visit. If you fail to cancel an operation 24 hours in advance without legitimate medical reasons, half the surgeon’s fee will be kept by the Division without future credit.
